Blood Donation and Awareness Camp organized in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: Rotary Club of Dibrugarh, in association with 9 Rajputana Rifles and Barpathar Yuva Sangha, organized a first of its kind blood donation and awareness camp at Borpothar in Dibrugarh district recently with an agenda to help the blood bank of Assam Medical College stock up on necessary blood bags ahead of the festive season.

The camp was organized with the aim of imparting knowledge on the need for blood donation and to remove various misconceptions that people have with regards to blood donation.

The venue and the primary donors were provided by the Barpathar Yuva Sangha while the army helped with the setting up of the camp.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Momi Neog, president of Rotary Club of Dibrugarh, said, that such camps would certainly help people to get rid of several misconceptions regarding blood donation and hoped that such camps would inspire people to donate blood on regular basis.

The first donor for the day was Sheetal Dutta Kaur, wife of Rahul Dutta, of Boiragimoth Dibrugarh, who chose to lead the campaign and show the way for women to donate blood. Members of Barpathar Yuva Sangha, local villagers, army personnel and members of Rotary Club of Dibrugarh donated blood for the cause.
