Bodo traditiol wrestlers to participate in Rongali festival

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 3: As many as 21 Bodo traditiol wrestlers (Khomlaigra) under the Bodoland Indigenous Games Association (BIGA) left for Guwahati on Friday to participate in the Rongali Festival, 2017.

The festival is being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Assam in different places of Guwahati from February 3 to February 5. This was informed by the joint secretary of the association, AK Basumatary.

The participants of Bodoland Indigenous Games Association will present their demonstration on ‘Khomlaii’, traditiol wrestling, ‘Dongfang Bukui’ (uprooting tree) and ‘Dahal Thungri Sibi’, (fighting with sword). The BIGA team also presented indigenous games in the 2nd North East Festival in New Delhi in November last year.
