Body of unidentified girl recovered under mysterious circumstances in Cachar

Silchar: A body of an unidentified girl was recovered under mysterious circumstances in Cachar Ghungoor area on Friday morning.

As per reports, the body was recovered near Silchar Medical College Hospital bypass road by the local people.

Local people assume the girl to be of 27 years old and accordingly informed the matter to the local police in the region.

Meanwhile, Silchar Police sent the body for post mortem at Silchar Medical College Hospital. Based on the preliminary investigations the police suspected it to be a case of rape and murder, however, police had not come into any proper conclusion on the matter so far.

It may be mentioned that recently, a body of an unidentified youth was recovered near Silchar ISBT and similarly, a burnt body of a lady was recovered near Silchar's Shillong patty area.
