GAURISAGAR, April 23: Sensation prevailed following recovery of a body on Monday morning hanging from a tree near Kharkhari Jaan in between Jakaichuk paddy field of  Jhanji Phulpanichiga  under Gaurisagar Police station in Sivasagar district. Local people immediately informed Gaurisagar Police Station. Later, Dadu Bora, officer in-charge of Gaurisagar Police Station rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. The police found some documents from the deceased person's possession and were able to identify him as  Bhaiti Kumar (29), resident of Krishna Basti,  Lakwa Changmai village under Simaluguri Police Station in Sivasagar district.

After identification by his relatives, police later sent the body to Sibsagar Civil Hospital for postmortem. Police sources said that the deceased was mentally challenged and used to roam around here and there.
