Boko Childline rescues 187 children since 2016

BOKO, March 15: Childline Boko observed its block-level consultation at Boko Girls’ High School on Wednesday. Madhabika Kalita, District Child Protection Officer, Kamrup rural district, rrated the function of Childline to protect child rights and how to take action against any person or business establishment engaging children as labourers.
Jitumoni Kumari, team member of Childline, said that the Boko branch had rescued 187 children till date from the Boko area since 2016. She said, “If anybody notices any child labourer, he or she should immediately inform Childline no. 1098 which operates round-the-clock to protect destitute child.” Sub Inspector of Boko Police Station, Jomoni Kalita also addressed the public.
