Bongaigaon, March 24: Bongaigaon Refinery has been conferred with ‘Excellence in consistent TPM commitment award’ by Japan Institute of Plant Maintence (JIPM), Japan for its excellence in consistent TPM commitment level. The award was given in a glittering function organized on 18 March, 2015 at Kyoto, Japan . D Gogoi, DGM(MN) and Ashim Bhattacharyya, CPNM received the award on behalf of BGR.
TPM journey for ‘Excellence in consistent TPM commitment’was kicked off at BGR on May 21, 2013. The refinery had successfully cleared the 1st stage assessment for TPM Consistency award on June 30, 2014 which was followed by 2nd stage assessment on January 7, 2015. Kazuhiko Amakawa and Katsunori Suzuki, assessors from M/s JIPM audited various processing units, had interactions with employees including shop floor level. During the audit, the assessors were presented case studies and pillar activity reports by the respective Pillar Heads and presenters. The Assessors were impressed by BGR initiatives and also appreciated the efforts of the employees.
Bongaigaon Refinery embraced the TPM culture and started practising it since January, 2006. TPM has been given top priority in the organisation with full spirit and zeal. It is to be mentioned that BGR was awarded TPM Excellence Awards, Category A in the year 2012.
