Book–keeping training programme for SHG members held

GAURISAGAR, Feb 19:  tiol Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (BARD) recently organized a book–keeping training programme for SHG members in association with Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Tengapukhuri Branch at Tengapukhuri  under zira  Development Block in  Sivasagar  district of Assam.

Addressing the gathering, Lakheswar  Mahanta, District Development Mager (DDM), BARD, Sivasagar nd Charaideo district highlighted the basic concept of formation and credit linkage of   SHG/JLGs   and  also its journey from concept level to micro credit. He also discussed various promotiol and developmental programmes of BARD.

In his speech, Jyoti Borgohain, Senior Branch Mager, AGVB, Tengapukhuri branch, also highlighted the importance of SHG movement. He also agreed to provide activity–based credit facilities to SHGs and JLGs. Swapan Das, Block Programme Mager (BPM), zira Development Block, highlighted the need to maintain proper books of accounts by SHGs.

In the programme, AGV Tengapukhuri Branch provided credit linkage of Rs. 6 lakh to 10 SHGs for rearing of duck, poultry, goat and other productivity activities. The programme was attended by more than 110 farmers, SGH/JLG members, dairy Farmers and weavers hailing from various parts of the block.
