Both Mrinal Hazarika and Jiten Dutta are acting as Spokespersons of Assamese people: Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha

Karimganj: Slamming Pro-talk ULFA leader Mrinal Hazarika and Jiten Dutta, North Karimganj Legislator Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha on Tuesday said that they are absolutely wrong if they are thinking that Bengalis can be killed the way they did in 1983.

He further stated that the days have changed, thus, they should now refrain from making such statements and work towards creating a positive environment.

Addressing a press conference Congress Legislator, Kamalakhya said, “It seems that intellectuals from Assam has disappeared and pro-talk ULFA leaders like Jiten Dutta and Mrinal Hazarika are now acting as the spokespersons of the Assamese society and people.

Legislator Kamalakhya added, “Due to lack of proper attention by the State Government and mistakes by the NRC authorities had compelled the Bengalis to commit suicide. There is no value for the life of the Bengali people in the state.”

Kamalakhya further urged people of Assam to come out and raise their voices against the pro-talk leaders for their alleged communal comments.

Also condemning the recent incident at the musical concert of Bollywood singer Shaan, a person from the audience allegedly hurled a paper ball towards the singer while he was performing at the Sarusajai Stadium, the Congress leader further stated that an artist has his own rights on what language he or she will sing, such kind of activities only gives a bad impression of our state in front of the nation.

On the other hand, Pro-talk leader, Jiten Dutta told The Sentinel, “Both MLA Shiladitya Dev and Congress leader Kamalakhya Dey are the spokespersons of the Bengali Jatiyatabad Nationalists; their sole aim is to spread the Bengali Jatiyatabad among the people.”

He further urged the indigenous people of Assam to come out and stand united and to safeguard the Asomiya Jatiyatabad in the state.
