Bought leaf factory set up

BISWATH CHARIALI, April 29: A woman entrepreneur, Aparajita Gupta, has hogged the limelight by setting up the largest bought leaf factory of Assam here. She has been able to achieve this with the help of two other entrepreneurs – Jayanta Borah and Raj Kumar Pawar. The factory was set up recently at Shimaluguri near Geruabari here. The trio has formed a company, JRC Company, for this purpose to market the tea produced in the factory under the brand me, Burhigang Tea. Initially, it aims to produce five lakh kg of tea, which will be increased up to twenty lakh kg every year. The four units of the factory were iugurated by Prabin Hazarika, MLA, Biswath LAC, Pallav Lochan Das, MLA, Behali LAC, Tripurendra Patar, Circle Officer, Biswath Revenue Circle, and Pradip Kumar Hazarika, Regiol Mager, Tezpur, State Bank of India. The dignitaries expressed the hope that the factory would be able to fulfil the aspirations of the small tea growers of the region.
