BPF candidate submits nomition paper

FROM A CORRESPONDENT

KALAIGAON, March 23: The administration of Bhergaon subdivision has made preparations for holding BTC polls in five constituencies, Mudaibari, Khairabari, Khalengduwar, Noicherphang and Bhergaon. Jagadish Sarkar, a candidate of the ruling BPF, submitted his nomition paper to the SDO(C) of Bhergaon subdivision for No.35 Mudaibari constituency.

Kumli Basumatari, MLA of Paneri LAC, former MLA Maheswar Baro and thousands of BPF members were present when the nomition paper was submitted on Monday. Jagadish Sarkar won the Mudaibari seat in the 2010 BTC polls. But it will be not so easy for him to win the seat in the upcoming polls, said a section of people of the constituency. Kalaigaon AAMSU and many people of the constituency have alleged that a large chunk of government fund for Kalaigaon Development Block had been misappropriated by the Kalaigaon BDO with the help of Jagadish Sarkar. BDO Raglal Sinha is already in Udalguri jail on charges of corruption.
