BPF makes clean sweep in three LACs of Udalguri

TANGLA, May 19: Ending all speculations and electoral calculations, the ruling Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) was able to sweep three LACs under Udalguri district. When results started pouring in, a festive moment prevailed and BPF supporters were seen celebrating the victory of their candidates by bursting crackers and distributing sweets among well-wishers in the town.
In a stupendous victory, the sitting BPF MLA and former minister Rihon Daimari won the Udalguri seat by a huge margin of 24,374 votes. While Daimari got 45,037 votes, his nearest rival candidate Anjali Prabha Daimari (Independent) got 20,663 votes.
In Panery LAC, three-times sitting MLA and BPF candidate Kamali Basumatari won by securing 38,668 votes. United People’s Party candidate nda Ram Baro got 22,866 votes.
In Mazbat LAC, BPF candidate Charan Boro won by a huge margin of 26,218 votes. Boro secured 48,351 votes while AIUDF candidate Teharu Gour trailed him with 22,133 votes.
