BPF to give facelift to Bodofa Cultural Complex

KOKRAJHAR, May 16: Efforts are on to beautify the Bodofa Cultural Complex near Kokrajhar town to attract the visitors. The complex is located near the River Gaurang in a beautiful landscape with tural growth trees. The BTC has constructed a beautiful cultural complex, food court, open theatre, art gallery, and auditorium and has installed several numbers of statues reflecting the diverse culture of various ethnic communities of the region. But poor maintence has left the complex in a pathetic condition.
The youth and women wings of the BPF have decided to beautify the complex and give it a facelift. Efforts have been given to add botanical garden inside the huge complex. A plantation programme was started on Monday inside the complex with local MLA Pramila Rani Brahma. The plantation of trees was organized by the youth and women wings of the BPF. Talking to a section of reporters, local MLA Pramila Rani Brahma said the youth and women wings of the BPF has taken up measures to beautify the Bodofa Cultural Complex with an attempt to attract the visitors. She said the visitors from inside or from abroad had asked her many times as to why the council had not given proper attention to preserve the cultural complex where every facility was available to boost cultural activity. She said the complex lacked proper maintence. She also said a new magement committee would be formed to look after the complex and it would be upgraded to botanical garden. She further said different kinds of trees would be planted inside the complex as part of its beautification.
