BPF workers burn newspaper

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 8: The workers of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) today burnt down the copies of Asomiya Pratidin, an Assam daily alleging that it published divisive news which they termed it as paid news.

The BPF supporters in presence of its leaders burnt the copies at JD Road, Kokrajhar town and Salakati Bazaar in Kokrajhar where the executive members of BTC Rajib kr. Brahma and Doneswar Goyary were present along with hundreds supporters. The newspaper allegedly carried a news item which stated that differences have cropped up between BTC chief Hagrama Mahilary and former minister Chandan Brahma. The senior BPF leader alleged that the news was completely baseless and fabricated.  Doneswar Goayary, EM of BTC said that such kind of news item would damage the image of the party.
