Braveheart Hav Hangpang Dada laid to rest

itagar, May 29: The mortal remains of martyred Havildar Hangpang Dada of 35 Rashtriya Rifles (Assam Regiment) were laid to rest today with full military honours at his tive place Village Borduria, Khonsa District Tirap Aruchal Pradesh. The Chief Minister of Aruchal Pradesh Kalikho Pul who was present at the ceremony paid rich tributes to the martyred warrior. The Education Minister of Aruchal Pradesh Wangle Lowangdong, local MLA, civil and military dignitaries, and about one thousand residents of the martyrs village were present to pay their homage to the departed Soldier.

It may be recalled that Havildar JD Hangpang Dada attained martyrdom on May 26 in the ugam Sector of Jammu and Kashmir, while foiling a bid by heavily armed terrorists trying to infiltrate into Indian territory. The team of soldiers under the leadership of Havildar Hangpang Dada successfully foiled the evil designs of the infiltrators and elimited four heavily armed terrorist, but in the ensuing fire fight the braveheart sustained fatal gun shot wounds and made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

The martyred soldier is survived by his wife Chasen Lowang Dada, daughter Roukhin Dada of 11 years of age and son Senwang Dada of 7 years. The CM announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs 20 Lakhs to the family, funding of education of the children till graduation and erection of a memorial at the burial place of the martyr. This was stated by defence spokesman Lt. Col. Suneet Newton.
