Breach at Nowboicha, Phoolbari road plugged

A CORRESPONDENT

LAKHIMPUR, July 14: The Water Resource Department under Lakhimpur district administration finally plugged the breach at Dolohat-Phoolbari PWD road caused by River Singara. After a rigorous endeavour of 15 days, the department could plug the breach on Saturday morning temporarily. A sudden deluge of the river violently washed away a 100-metre portion of the road near Dlohat Tiniali on NH-15 on June 28 and caused inundation of more than 40 villages as well as massive devastation in the area. As a result of plugging the breach, flood water began to recede in the inundated areas.
