Brihattar Axomiya Yuba Mancha to Fight for Rights of Indigenous People

GUWAHATI, Aug 12: A new committee of Guwahati Mahanagar Samiti of Brihattar Axomiya Yuba Mancha on Sunday vowed to fight for the cause of safeguarding identity of indigenous Assamese people of the State.

New president of the Mancha Mrinmoy Barua while addressing a function held at Dispur Press Club here said it will be a great honour if his organization can contribute towards the cause of indigenous people of the State. He said his organization will focus on education, culture and sports fields in the State.

Barua said the Mancha will put pressure on chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal to set up a coaching institute in Guwahati to groom talented students from interior and backward places to compete for the all India examinations including the UPSC exams.

While Alokesh Goswami selected as secretary general, Sagarika Goswami has been entrusted with assistant secretary general post of the Mancha.
