Silchar, May 3: Recently, a call was received by N S Jamwal, Inspector General (BSF) from the United States of America, that a team consisting of Dr Madhukar Sanneerappa, Global President and CEO of Neo Docto, a resident of 245 Park Avenue, 39th floor, New York City, got stranded in the remote areas of Rajiv Nagar in Mizoram while the team was heading towards Tripura from Mizoram in their vehicle bearing No CRV No – KA- 03NE 2387 due to heavy weather and muddy road. On getting the distress call from USA, IG BSF directed, Commandant 90 Bn BSF to launch rescue teams to trace out the stranded team and provide all necessary help.
Krishna Rao, Officiating Commandant formed three teams from BOP Rajivnagar and BOP New Amchurimukh and dispatched them in various directions. During the search, the team consisting of a female and two males were spotted on the road leading to Tripura, at about 4.45 pm. With great difficulty their vehicle was tow-chained to BOP Rajivnagar. The team was provided accommodation and all necessary assistance at the border out post. The team left for Tripura. This humanitarian gesture was highly appreciated and tweeted by the brother of Dr Madhukar from the States. He tweeted, “I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for helping out my brother today. I salute you and all your staff who were involved, which was very quick and efficient. We will remember your help for our life time.”
It is pertinent to mention here that the team has already covered states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram and was proceeding to Tripura for attending a meeting with the Governor, the Chief Minister and the Health Minister of Tripura. Neo Docto is a Global Organization working in health issues specially dealing with Malaria. BSF is not only guarding international borders effectively but also providing humanitarian assistance to all the needy people on border belt and in hinterland as well. This gesture of Border Security Force has been highly appreciated.
