BSS team to take part in workshop for dictiory compilation

KOKRAJHAR, April 26: A three-member team of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) will take part in a five-day workshop to be held from April 27 at RK Purum in New Delhi. The workshop will be organized in connection with the compilation of a dictiory for 22 scheduled languages of India, informed Bodo Sahitya Sabha general secretary Kamala Kanta Muchahary.

The team includes BSS general secretary Kamala Kanta Mushahry, vice-presidents Biseswar Basumatary and Birendra Kumar Basumatary. He said that the workshop would be organized by the Ministry of Human Resource and Directorate of Hindi (CHD) which will be held from April 27 to May 1.

Mushahary informed that the team would also seek appointment from Prime Minister rendra Modi, Union Minister of Human Resource Smriti Irani, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Joel Oram and Union Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare Sarbanda Sonowal to press their various demands during their stay in New Delhi.

At least four projects including Bodo-Hindi Bartalab, Hindi-Bodo-English dictiory were completed with the help of the Directorate of Hindi (CHD) after the inclusion of Bodo language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. He said that the making of an audio for Bodo-Hindi Bartalab was on the process of completion.

BSS general secretary said that the Sabha had succeeded to imprint the Bodo language in the region. He also said that the Bodo language would be recognized as one of the developing languages in India provided completion of various projects for the compilation of dictiory. However, he lamented that due to fincial constraints, some of the projects could not be completed.
