BTC poll fever grips Tamulpur

TAMULPUR, March 10: The political parties in BTAD have geared up for the forthcoming BTC polls. In Tamulpur , the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) has med Deben Boro as the candidate from 28 no Gayabari constiuency . Sitting BTC executive member Boro after getting the party ticket has launched massive campaign in the constituency.   

Meanwhile , party insider said that former ABSU leader Jiten Mushahary and Jogen Basumatary have reportedly sought ticket from PCDR .

The PCDR has already orgainsed several election meetings in Tamulpur area to woo the voters.

The Congress , however, yet to declare mes of the candidates in the constiunecy .  Congress party insider , however , said  that former Tamulpur MLA Chandi Basumatary have sought ticket from 28 no Gayabari constiuency .

On the other hand , sources said that the Sarania Kachari Students' Union (SKSU)  has also decided to field candidate  in the BTC polls from the constituency.

"No political party has given any importance for the solution of the problems of Sarania Kacharis over the years. No development activities have been done for the people of our community. Therefore , this time we have decided to field candiadate from our community," said a leader of the SKSU on condition of annonimity.

The orgainsation is mulling to field Deepak Deka, vice president of Sarania Kachari Development Council . Deka, however , has not agreed so far to contest the polls.

The student organisation also considering to field youth actvist Laxmindan Deka from the constituency  if in case they can't convince Deepak Deka to contest.
