Bus conductor assaults traffic official, injured

MANGALDAI, June 17:  The alleged unruly activities of a section of drivers, conductors of private passenger vehicles running on the NH 15 across Mangaldai crossed all limits when the conductor of passenger bus (ULTRA) bearing registration AS 25 AC 9714 physically attacked an on-duty traffic police official.  Police said Assistant Sub Inspector (Traffic) Mantu Kr Bora of Mangaldai police station was seriously when a conductor of the bus attacked him. The police officer objected to the illegally parking of the bus on the middle of the tiol Highway causing traffic srls in the busy hours.  The accused conductor identified as Rubul Ali (47) son of Fiznur Ali of village Mohipul under Baihata Chariali police station in Kamrup district involved in the incident that took place at Bhebarghat police point on Thursday morning even failed to produce his conductor license issued by the Transport department. The police registered a case vide Mangaldai Police Station Case Number 444/16 under section 342/353/333/325/427 of Indian Pel Code and arrested the bus conductor.
