BVFCL conducts plantation drive

Namrup, June 10: World Environment Day was celebrated in Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Ltd (BVFCL), Namrup recently with great zeal and enthusiasm. Essay and drawing competitions were organized in all nearby schools to make students aware about environmental degradation and its protective measures. BVFCL also conducted a significant plantation drive by planting more than 1,000 saplings in the Namrup township under aegis of the Dibrugarh district administration. Besides, a massive cleanliness drive along with awareness banners and posters on environmental issues was carried out in the surrounding areas of the township by the administrative department. Ceremonial tree plantation was done by the dignitaries of BVFCL at the Bihu pandal premises. Badges issued by the National Safety Council were distributed amongst all the employees and contractual workers.

The weeklong programme concluded with a seminar on the current year’s theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ held in the BVFCL Training Centre in presence of a large number of employees, students, teachers and guardians. The seminar witnessed colorful presentation and informative speeches along with a prize distribution ceremony.
