BYSF bandh hits normal life in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 24: The 12-hours Kokrajhar district bandh call given by BTC Bengali Youth Students’ Federation in protest against the kidpping of a businessman from Bhabanipur near Kokrajhar town by unknown miscreants recently, crippled normal life here. The bandh supporters burnt tyres on Jwhwlao Dwimalu Road and a tempo was also set on fire by the bandh supporters.

 Most of the business establishments, shops and weekly markets remained closed and attendance in offices were thin.  The vehicles went off the road other than private vehicles in Kokrajhar town. The bandh supporters at Bhabanipur took to the street in protest protest against the failure to arrest the culprits involved in the kidpping case.

Unknown miscreants in two motorbikes picked up a businessman Ranjit Dutta from Bhabanipur. The Kokrajhar district committee of BTC Bengali Youth Students’ Federation set 48-hour deadline for the district administration to arrest the culprits.

Biju Saha, general secretary of All BTC Bengali Youth Students’ Federation has warned that the federation will compel to launch series of agitations if the district administration fails to b the culprits involved in the kidpping and rescue the trader.
