RANGIA, September 26: In order to turn job seekers to job creators, Bharat Yuba Shakti Trust (BYST), an NGO set up to assist all needy and disadvantaged Indian youths to develop business ideas, organized a get together-cum-workshop, including an entrepreneurship development programme, with the successful entrepreneurs of the locality at Rangia Raijmel Swahid Krishak Bhavan on Sunday.
On this occasion, successful entrepreneurs like Hiramoni Deka, Kalpa Sarma, Babi Ahmed, Mashi Budha, Binuma Choudhury, mita Talukdar, Kak Lata Sarma, Khagen Mali and Manoranjan Kalita were introduced. Earlier, participants were apprised of the various programmes and modes of assistance under BYST for the youths.
Dhiman Chanda, cluster head, BYST, said since its inception, more than 70 BYST-supported entrepreneurs had won various tiol and intertiol awards. The latest being the Green Enterpreuner award in 2012, instituted by Youth Business Intertiol (UK), in competition with 40 other countries. In the past few years, BYST has expanded and set up eight regiol clusters -. Cheni, Rural Tamil du, Pune, Hyderabad, Maharastra, Assam and Odisha- and finced around 3,800 entrepreneurs, creating employment for 1,55,000 people, Chanda said.
