Cable TV operators asked to complete digitalization on time

DIBRUGARH, Feb 24:  The District Administration has called upon the cable TV operators of the district, to complete the work of the fourth phase of cable TV digitalization process within the specified time.  Along with the other parts of the country, in Dibrugarh district too, the fixed time for completion of the fourth phase of work of cable TV digitalization has been extended to March 31, 2017.

Earlier, for the region and rural areas which were selected by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the last date for cable TV Digitalization was fixed on Dec 31, 2016.

Due to slow process of setting up of Set Top Boxes and some cases being subjudice, the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting extended the period of cable TV digitalization to March 31, 2017.

In view of the new order, the district administration has urged upon cable TV operators of the district to accelerate the work within the stipulated time frame.

In view of the digitalization work of cable TV for areas falling under the third phase, being completed on Jan 31, 2016, the Cable TV Operators have been asked to confirm the end of broadcast of channels through Alog Sigl, a press release stated.
