Cachar DC Laya Madduri convenes meeting, addresses burning issues

Silchar: Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Laya Madduri interacted with the senior citizens of Silchar at a meeting held at the conference hall of her office here on Saturday evening.

Senior and well known personalities highlighted some of the core issues affecting public life at the meeting which was also attended by Ranadeep Dam, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Niharendra Narayan Tagore, chairman, Silchar Municipal Board, Sandipan Endow, Sujan Dutta, general secretary of district Congress, Mridul Majumder, industrialist, Taimur Raja Choudhury, editor, Samayik Prasanga, Uday Shankar Goswami, BJP leader, Haran Dey, chairman of PNC, Bithika Acharjee, Dulal Mitra, Babul Hore, Prof. N B Dey among others.

A number of major issues related to traffic congestion, drainage problems, medical services, wages of tea labourers, roads and broken pavements, scarcity of stamp papers, problems in passbook printing at post offices among others were discussed at length. They urged upon the new Deputy Commissioner to take steps to mitigate the problems and to initiate measures to solves these issues.
