Cachar Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri reviews progress of Borkhola project

Silchar: Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Laya Madduri on Wednesday reviewed the progress of Borkhola Development Block. During her visit, Laya Madduri was accompanied by Rasaraj Das, PD, DRDA, Cachar. She expressed her discontent over the sluggish performance of the block in respect of implementing various central govt sponsored scheme including PMAY and MGNREGS.

Laya Madduri then instructed the PD to expedite the execution of all the schemes and complete them within the stipulated time-frame so that the beneficiaries may avail maximum benefit. Laya Madduri then interacted with the members of SEDO, a local NGO of Borkhola and assured them of fixing the problems that the villagers are facing. She also undertook extensive tour through the remote areas of the block and inspected a water tank being constructed by the Borkhola GP under the MGNREGS scheme. She instructed officials to follow guidelines strictly and warned them of dire consequences in case of violations.
