Call to make Kokrajhar an education hub

Kokrajhar, April 22: The deputy chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyary said before the guardians who attended the grand opening of Brahma Baba Techno School at Janagaon in Kokrajhar town, that it was a dream to make Kokrajhar an education hub in the region. Borgoyary said, "Our parents and guardians used to send their children outside the State to pursue qualitative education due to lack of good educational institutions and spent a lot of money. But nowadays many educational institutions providing excellent education have come up in Kokrajhar and parents and guardians need not worry."

 He said the newly-inaugurated techno school would definitely cater to the needs of the people of Kokrajhar. He also said the educational scenario in Kokrajhar was extremely poor and literacy rate was low. But now many good educational institutions had come up in Kokrajhar. He further said the educational institutions in the district should not just provide quality education but also provide opportunities to students to learn with their own language, culture and traditions.

 The inaugural function was also addressed by the Director of Education, BTC, Rabi Sankar Borgoyary, Principal I/C of Kokrajhar Law College, Preeta Brahma, and BTC EM of Sports and Youth Welfare, Doneswar Goyary as well as other intellectuals. Earlier, the Director of the school, Neeta Basumatary gave the welcome address. The owner of the new school, Ajay Basumatary, while talking to this correspondent, said the school had classes from Nursery to Class VII and 60 students were there at present. He hoped that the number of students would increase next year. A mini exhibition of the students was also held in the school which the BTC deputy chief visited and interacted with the children. He also planted saplings in the school compound.
