Campaign for Phase I Panchayat Poll ends Today

GUWAHATI: All heavyweights of the State are in rural areas campaigning for the first phase of panchayat poll. The campaign for the first phase of the poll is going to close on Monday. Following a directive from the State Election Commission, district administrations have been busy in their last-minute preparations for the first phase of the poll slated to be held from 7 am-3 pm on December 5. As many as 43,515 candidates are in the fray for the first phase of the rural poll.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, State BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass, AGP president and minister Atul Bora, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Ripun Bora and others are busy in the campaign for the first phase of the poll.
