Captain Jintu Gogoi Soccer begins in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: The 15th Captain Jintu Gogoi Veer Chakra Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Dao Division as a mark of tribute to Kargil Martyr and Assam ‘Bir Chilarai’ Captain Jintu Gogoi, kicked off on Sunday at Army Polo Ground, Paltan Bazar. The opening ceremony of the tournament was witnessed by a large gathering, and Tilo Sonowal, who has immensely contributed to Assam’s literature and recipient of Dr. Ambedkar Sahityashree National Award, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The tournament was inaugurated by Sonowal and Flying Officer TR Gogoi, father of Captain Jintu Gogoi.
