Car lifter arrested in Jorhat

Jorhat, April 23: Police arrested one person from Terimeri gaon under Pulibor police station in Jorhat district for his alleged involvement in car lifting on Saturday. The arrested person was identified as Papu Baruah of Terimeri gaon. Police have registered a case vide Pulibor police station case no. 109/2016, under section 379, 406 of the Indian Pel Code against the arrested person. Police said that the person was involved in many car-lifting cases in the district and he is a member of an inter-State car lifter group. Officer in-charge of Pulibor police station said that the person was arrested on Saturday and interrogation was on. “He will be produced before the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jorhat tomorrow,” he said.
