Casanova Alert, Fraud Arrested By Chandmari Police

GUWAHATI: Playing the Casanova, a fraud Digbijoy Dey of BK Road, Dhekiajuli who had been duping girls finally landed in troubled waters. Apparently, Dey had been befriending young girls on social media with a fake name Ankur Kashyap and boasting of a lucrative job and claiming to be from an affluent family. He amassed Rs 20 thousand and a laptop from one of his victims and Rs 3 lakh 60 thousand from another, and two cases (312/19) and (555/19) were registered at Gitanagar police station in this regard. Acting upon it, Chandmari police caught the accused and an accomplice Ranjita Pegu of Dhemaji, as further investigations are being made.
