Case filed against MePDCL

SHILLONG, June 12: Joannes JTL Lamare, a resident of Kynton-U-mon village, East Khasi Hills district has filed a case in the consumer forum against the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL) for failing to provide electricity to the area for nearly six days despite repeated complaints. Due to damage of a particular machine - as informed by the authorities - the village was without power supply from May 16 to May 21, the complaint letter stated. Meanwhile, in the hearing held on June 9, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum had directed the respondent - MePDCL, Mawrynkneng (D) Sub Division - to submit its response during the next hearing fixed for June 30.
