Case registered against Margherita College Principal

MARGHERITA, March 22: A case was registered against Margherita College Principal Dr Budhin Gogoi on March 20 by an alumnus of the college, Chironjita Sharma. The case (IPC Section 406,408,409  U/S 68/2015) has been registered at Margherita Police Station. Chironjita Sharma told this correspondent that three months ago she filed an RTI application seeking information regarding fund which was sanctioned to Margherita College for boxing project and boxing ring but she did not get any reply from the Margherita College Principal Dr Budhin Gogoi.

Again Chironjita Sharma wrote an application to the Margherita College Principal Dr Budhin Gogoi to return her library caution money fees which is refundable as per UGC norms but was again denied. She even staged a demonstration in front of Margherita Police Station on Saturday where AJYCP, AASAA, CMSS and several women organizations of Margherita took part. She demanded the arrest of Dr Budhin Gogoi.

Margherita Circle Officer and magistrate Prab Bora assured Chironjita Sharma that necessary action would be taken against Margherita College Principal Dr Budhin Gogoi. Kanchan Bora, general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee said that Margherita College had become a centre of corruption and scam and threatened massive agitation if necessary action was not taken against the Principal.
