Cash looted by two bikers in broad daylight in North Lakhimpur town

LAKHIMPUR: A sensational incident of loot took place in North Lakhimpur town on Tuesday. Malini Kakati, wife of Someswar Dutta, resident of Collegeguri of Gahpur in Biswanath district, said that two bikers looted cash Rs. 2,20,000 which were kept in a bag on the DK Road of North Lakhimpur around 11 am. A retired ANM, Malini Kakati said that the two bikers snatched her bag while she and her husband were walking along the DK Road after she had withdrawn the cash from her pension amount in State Bank of India, North Lakhimpur branch. She clutched on to the lace of the bag firmly and the bikers dragged her along the road for around 50 meters. At the last moment, the lace detached from the bag. This was captured on CCTV. Along with the cash, the woman lost her mobile phone, pass book, an umbrella and necessary documents. Meanwhile, the woman lodged an FIR in North Lakhimpur Police Station. On the other hand, another miscreant looted Rs, 20,000 from another woman on Monday in the heart of North Lakhimpur town. The second incident within 24 hours took place in the town on Tuesday.
