Cash recovered in Golaghat, couple arrested

Golaghat, June 29: Acting on a tip-off, Golaghat police on Wednesday recovered Rs 5.76 lakh  from a couple at Mokrung under Ghiladhari PS in Golaghat. The amount was alleged to be brought illegally for poaching.  Additiol SP of Golaghat, Numal Mahato told media persons that Golaghat police has been on a continuous search for poachers and on June 7, a poacher med Tilak Bora was bbed by the police and later on another poacher med Sarat Saikia was bbed. After that the police, based on confessions of the two poachers, today searched a house at Mokrung where they had taken shelter and recovered the cash. Police also detained the couple - Bhaikon Sonowal and Tulika Sonowal in this connection.
