Cashless digital funding and women empowerment programme held

TEZPUR, Feb 14: IDBI Tezpur branch, in collaboration with North East Rural Agricultural Development Organization (NERGDO) and Barsabaran Joint Liability Group, organized a  cashless digital funding and women empowerment programme on Tuesday.

A day-long programme was held at Tezpur District Library to encourage women, especially women SHGs under IDBI Tezpur branch, to digitalize their all activities, including buying essential commodities without cash transaction.

Iugurating the programme, branch mager Peter Diengdoh said that women had more power and they encouraged the society. Debojit Dutta,  Professor,  Tezpur College, who attended as a guest, said that the main thrust of  the economic activities was to enhance income from existing resources and create  additiol opportunities  of employment to optimize local resources and skill. tiol award winner progressive farmer Labanya Deka, owner of Ka Nursery, advised the SHGs that flower-cutting and marketing were the best earning systems to develop today.
