Cattle smuggler apprehended

Dhubri, May 8: An Indian cattle smuggler was apprehended by troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force, along with 38 cattle heads on Friday morning in Digaltari.

Last night, cattle smugglers and trans- border crimils of India and Bangladesh made multiple attempts to smuggle out a huge consignment of cattle heads from India to Bangladesh, through the unfenced border in Coochbehar, taking advantage of inclement weather conditions. The BSF troops thwarted their attempts and maged to apprehend one Indian cattle smuggler and 38 cattle heads in the wee hours on Friday. He has been identified as Hussain Ali of Dinhata in  Cooch Behar (West Bengal).

During prelimiry questioning he revealed the mes of several of his absconding cohorts against whom the BSF is carrying out intensive search. The cattle heads have been handed over to local Customs authority and the apprehended smuggler has been handed over to Dinhata police station for necessary legal action.
