Celebrating the Spirit of Music on World Music Day

Today the world is celebrating ‘World Music Day’ to glorify the significance of music and its power to bring people closer across the borders through expressing heartfelt emotions. Music can spread happiness, harmony and integrity. Music is eternal and tranquilizer of soul. Music is an integral part of one’s life, and anyone can feel the spark of music flying around the world. Music is even used to heal different kind of disabilities and illness, the benefits of music therapy can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. Nature is the inspiration to create music, the sound of wind, the sound of leaf, the sound of rain, the sound of flowing river or the wave of a sea everything are inspirational and elements of music. World Music Day is also known by the name of a France music fest ‘Fete de la Musique’. World Music Day is a day of free music, when all the musicians are allowed and encouraged to perform in any public spaces without any restriction. This year around 150 artists will perform in various location of Udaypur city from over 16 countries of the world including countries like USA, Nepal, France, Spain, India etc.

On the eve of World Music Day, Bollywood music industry goes gaga. Bollywood singer Shaan, by sharing his musical journey in Bollywood said in an interview, “Once a Singer, always a singer.” He also added that he is fortunate to have witnessed all the great singers of yesteryears. Bollywood female playback singers, from Shalmali Kholgade to Jonita Gandhi, share their favorite Bollywood iconic number which they would have loved to sing if given an opportunity. Music director and singer Shankar Mhadevan and rapper Badshah are also celebrating the diversity of music on the day of music. Despite being from different genre of music both the singers have agreed upon the fact that melody is the key of any music.
