Central team visits Majuli for assessment and progress of schemes

JORHAT, May 5: A two-member high-level team comprising Suman Chaterjee, deputy secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India, and Kaikam Doungal, under secretary of DoNER, reviewed the progress of various undergoing schemes, including Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, said Debo Prasad Mishra, the Deputy Commissioner of Majuli on Saturday.
According to administrative sources, the high-level team sent by the Government of India arrived on Majuli on Thursday. Soon after their arrival, they had marathon meetings with officials of various departments and the administration at the DC’s conference hall and reviewed the success of various government welfare schemes.
 PMUY and Mission Indradhanush under Ayushman Bharat Abhiyan were also discussed during the meeting and the central team was accompanied by Naren Das and Chinmoy Nath, departmental heads and officials of the departments concerned were present.
On Saturday, the team visited Missamora, Eri-Chapori, Majoor Chapori, Maluwal Kalita Chapori, Maluwa Miri, Gowal gaon, Elengi gaon, Ratanpur Miri gaon, Chikari gaon, Majoor Deouri, Kartik Chuk, Naga Chuk and Thakur Chuti.
