Centre reviews housing schemes

Itagar, Dec 01: Director of Housing for Urban Poverty Alleviation under the Union Ministry of Housing B M Agrawal on Wednesday reviewed the status of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yoja (PMAY)-Housing for All (HFA) (Urban), Rajiv Awas Yoja, (RAY) and Basic Service for Urban Poor (BSUP) and Integrated Housing for Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) being implemented in Aruchal Pradesh.

There are four RAY Project at Itagar, Palin, Bomdila and Dirang, three BSUP Project at 752 DUs Nirjuli, 144 DUs at Nirjuli and 120 DUs at Jully and one IHSDP project at Roing, an official release informed here today.

The overall progress of the ongoing projects was discussed in the meeting. The meeting also suggested for timely completion of projects as per prescribe guidelines.

Speaking on the occasion, Taba Tedir, Chief Engineer-cum-Director (UD&H) informed that the State Level Nodal Agency for PMAY has geared up for implementation of the PMAY by constituting State Level Technical Cell & City Level Technical Cell and for preparation of Housing for All Plan of Action.

Joint directors Marcony Potom and Taring Darang presented the details status of PMAY-HFA (U), RAY, BSUP, and IHSDP.

The Director suggested for timely completion of ongoing housing projects such as RAY, BSUP IHSDP as per sanctioned DPR. Also he advised to give due importance to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yoja for benefit of urban poor including Economically Weaker Section & Low Income Group.

Nixon Lego, Deputy Director (Urban Planner) requested the officer of the Union Housing ministry to help in getting sanction of DPRs & Project under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yoja for successful implementation of the flagship programme in Aruchal Pradesh.

The meeting was attended by Capital Complex Division, Bomdila Division and all officers and officials of Directorate of UD & Housing, the release added.
