Centre sanctions Rs 49 crore to Aruchal

ITAGAR, Jan 10: In a yet another boost to state’s tourism sector, the constant persuasion of Chief Minister bam Tuki and Tourism Parliamentary Secretary Mama tung has started bearing fruits as the Union Tourism Ministry has sanctioned over 49 crore for development of Bhalukpong – Bomdila – Tawang tourist circuit under North East theme of Swadesh Darshan.

The ministry has sanctioned Rs 49, 76, 59, 906 to the state under the scheme, an official report informed here on Friday.

It may be mentioned that this is another major development under Tourism sector this year as the state had received a whopping Rs. 97,13,67,718 earlier this month under ‘Integrated Development of New Adventure Tourism in Aruchal Pradesh’ for development of infrastructure and basic amenities necessary to tap the immense tourism potential of the state.

The proposal which has been sanctioned by the union government includes infrastructure development in one of the busiest tourist circuit of the state. Besides, way side amenities for tourists and cafeterias, eco log huts, trekking trail etc. will be built all along the Bhalukpong –Bomdila – Tawang tourist circuit under the programme.

Tourism Parliamentary Secretary Mama tung while thanking the union tourism ministry, assured that every penny of the development fund would be judiciously and expeditiously used. He said that the Aruchal Pradesh has the potential to become a tourism hub and with the support and guidance of state chief minister bam Tuki and the central fincial assistance, state is poised to become a front runner in terms of tourism industry in the days to come. He called upon the department officers to gear up and put their soul to ensure completion of the projects well in time with maintaining utmost quality.
