From Our Correspondent

Itagar, Nov 4: Lok Sabha MP Ninong Ering has urged Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC) to take necessary steps to stop further encroachment of public space in East Siang district as the government would be requiring more space for future urban development infrastructure and civic facilities. The meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Councillor Kaling Doruk discussed issues pertaining to ‘Smart City Mission’ and various flagship programmes under Swachh Bharat Mission.

The PMC resolved to appoint tricycle pullers and sanitary assistants within one week. It was resolved in the meeting that construction of IHHL will be completed by November 30. The issue of improvement in parking system also came up and decided for its improvement. The ZPC suggested taking PRIs into confidence in city development activities as most of the stakeholders are from rural areas.

Municipal Executive Officier A Koyu briefed on the progress made so far in Smart City Mission activities. He proposed for a fresh roadmap towards Smart City Mission for the 3rd round of competition, the communiqué added.
