Cherry Blossom fest from Nov 8

Shillong, Oct 16: The first India Intertiol Cherry Blossom Festival will be held at the State Capital from 8th to 11th November. This was announced Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and Dibandhu Sahoo, Director of Institute of Bioresources and Sustaible Development (IBSD), at New Delhi on Monday. Last year, Shillong made history by hosting India’s first Cherry Blossom Festival from 14th to 17th November. It was organised by the Meghalaya government in association with the IBSD and attracted a huge number of tourists from all over the world. Several events have lined up during the four-day festival like guided night walks under illumited cherry blossoms trees, live musical events, beauty pageant and stalls showcasing the cuisine, wine, arts  and craft of the Northeast, rock concert, traditiol folk music, photography competitions, bicycle rallies, etc.
