Cheta Das selected for Aidew Handique Bota

JORHAT, Nov 17: Assamese popular silver screen artiste Cheta Das has been selected for Aidew Handique Award 2017 for her outstanding performances, said All Assam Lekhika Samaroh Samiti spokesperson at Jorhat on Thursday.

The award will be handed over to the noted actress at a glittering function of the Samaroh to be held at Dibrugarh on December 17 which was decided at a meeting held at Jorhat recently. "The meeting also decided that like every year this year also Samaroh has decided to award a female artiste for their outstanding contribution in this field and this year for the award, Cheta Das' me was proposed and it has been passed by the selection committee who will confer the award with citation, cash, seleng chaddar at a glittering function in Dibrugarh," said spokes person Bharati Dutta here.
