Chhapaak: Deepika Padukone Reveals First Look As Acid Attack Survivor In Upcoming Meghna Gulzar Film

Actor Deepika Padukone has shared her first look from her upcoming film, Chhapaak. The actor plays acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal within the film, presently being shot under the direction of Raazi’s Meghna Gulzar.

Deepika Padukone seems to be fully prosthetic makeup within the image, which shows her in an artistic pose that highlights the scars and burns on her character’s face. In addition to revealing the first look, Deepika announced that filming on the project can start these days. Chhapaak will be released on January 10, 2020.

Meghna had previously teased that fans can expect to see a completely new Deepika within the film. “You won’t be seeing Deepika, you know. You may be seeing a disfigured Deepika Padukone,” the moviemaker aforesaid at a Chennai event. “There is an uncanny similarity between the survivor and Deepika.”

Laxmi has expressed her approval of Deepika being forged within the role. Speaking with the media, she had aforesaid, “I am thus happy that Deepika is going to play the role. I even have no right to evaluate her. How am I able to judge someone for something that I can’t do. She has played terrific characters on screen and that I believe she is going to offer her best.”

The actor had recently shared a behind-the-scenes image from a table read session from the film, which additionally showed her co-actor, Vikrant Massey, during a bearded look. “All things are ready if our mind is so,” Deepika Padukone quoted William Shakespeare within the caption.

Recently, a brand new cover of Vogue magazine with Deepika Padukone sharing the space with the Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson and South Korean actor Doona Bae. Now, Vogue has released a video clip on social media, where leading actors from 14 totally different nationalities like Nigeria, India, Mexico, Iceland, US and France, among others, have poken about what a typical film’s storyline is like in their respective countries.

Sharing the post, Vogue wrote: “Don’t touch that dial, ladies and gentlemen it’s time for Hollywood, Nollywood, and Bollywood Squared! Get to grasp a bevvy of the world’s most famed actresses in an exceedingly good old fashioned game show format.”

The video features Deepika Padukone where she describes Bollywood film in a gist. She will be seen saying, “Boy and girl meet. The minute they look at each other, there’s electricity; they fall in love and all of a sudden, the bad guy enters and he is ready to destroy their future. Part 1.” The glint of humour in her eyes is unmistakable. She is obviously having fun.
