Chi, Pakistan vow further cooperation

Beijing, September 2: Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Pakistani counterpart Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday vowed further cooperation between their countries on intertiol issues.

Xi told Hussain, who is in Beijing for commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, that Chi views its relations with Pakistan as very important.

“Chi will continue to enrich the Chi-Pakistan community of shared destiny in a bid to make play an exemplary role for other neighbouring countries,” Xi was quoted by Xinhua as saying.

During Xi’s visit to Pakistan in April, the two sides agreed to cooperate in areas including port construction, transport infrastructure, energy and industry.

Chi will keep in close contact with Pakistan on cooperation in industrial zones, Xi said.

“Chi will unswervingly support Pakistan’s efforts in safeguarding its tiol security, and is willing to strengthen coordition and cooperation with Pakistan in intertiol and regiol issues,” he added.

Hussain noted the great contribution that the Chinese people made to the war 70 years ago, and said Pakistan cherished its ties with Chi.

Pakistan is committed to building the Pakistan-Chi Economic Corridor, and will continue to strengthen cooperation and coordition with Chi in intertiol issues, he added. (IANS)
