Chief Minister asks DCs to implement RPRS vigorously

GUWAHATI, June 28: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi asked Deputy Commissioners to actively gear up welfare-oriented schemes for the tea garden workers and holding of gaon sabha meetings on a regular basis.

At a video conference with Deputy Commissioners of different districts from his office conference room here today, Chief Minister Gogoi asked the Deputy Commissioners to improve the working condition of the tea garden workers, health related issues and installation of electric meter in every household. Gogoi also instructed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure holding of gaon sabha meetings on a regular basis for further strengthening of the panchayati raj institutions at the grassroots level.

The Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioners to take the administration closer to the people and to address their problems by vigorously implementing the Raijor Padulit Raijor Sarkar programme.

Gogoi also instructed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure display of the list of food items along with prices by the Fair Price Shops.

The issue of transfer of wages directly to the bank account holders of tea garden workers also came up for discussion in course of the video conferencing with the Deputy Commissioners. The Chief Minister today interacted with the Deputy Commissioners of Tinsukia, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Kamrup (M), Kamrup, lbari, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Dhubri and others.

The Chief Minister’s video conferencing was attended, among others, by Chief Secretary, VK Piparsenia, Additiol Chief Secretary, KV Eapen, Additiol Chief Secretary to CM, MGVK Bhanu, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Sanjeeva Kumar, Commissioner & Secretary, Fince, Dr. Ravi Kota and Commissioner & Secretary, Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Rajesh Prasad, this was stated in a press release.
