Chief Minister bats for transparency and efficiency in workplace

GUWAHATI, Sept 1: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal while releasing books on RTI and Training Needs of Civil Service Officers said today it is very important to make the government offices efficient and transparent to keep the faith of the people in the system intact.   The books Training Needs Alysis Report of Secretariat Staff 2016, Training Needs Alysis Report of Assam Civil Service Officers 2016 and Books on RTI in English, Bodo and Bengali have been brought out by Assam Administrative Staff College as part of the 100 days task completion agenda of the Government.   

     Chief Minister Sonowal said that Training Needs Alysis Report of both Assam Civil Service officers and Secretariat Staff will greatly help identifying the training needs of the officers and thereby ebling them to deliver their duties more efficiently. He also reiterated that RTI is a very powerful tool in the hands of the people and all government officials should have thorough knowledge of RTI so that they can impart their knowledge to others.      

     Chief Minister Sonowal said that Secretariat is the nerve -centre of all the administrative works and Secretariat Staff should work diligently and transparently so that all district and sub-division level offices are inspired to carry out their work in the same spirit. He stated that timely action on the common peoples’ applications is very important to maintain their faith in the government.

    Chief Minister Sonowal expressed happiness that Assam Administrative Staff College has brought out the books within 100 days of the government and hoped this Training Needs Alysis will greatly help in making both the ACS and Secretariat Staff officials more efficient in performing their duties.  He also called for compassion and humility among the officials towards the common people who come seeking various services to the government offices so that good governce is maintained at all levels.     

    Additiol Chief Secretary V S Bhaskar and KK Mittal, Principal Secretary Education Pawan Barthakur, Commissioner and Secretary to CM Sanjay Lohia and Assam Secretariat Service Association President Basab Kalita among others were present at the meeting. Representatives from various secretariat employee associations were also present on the occasion.
