Chief Minister iugurates Jengraimukh Police Station

Dispur, May 10: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal on Wednesday formally iugurated the permanent building of Jengraimukh Police Station at a function held at Jengraimukh in Majuli. The permanent building of the police station was built at a cost of 64.98 lakhs by Assam Police Housing Corporation.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal hailed the role of Assam Police in maintaining law and order of the State as well as protecting lives and properties of the people of the State. He also acknowledges the role of Assam Police in controlling terrorism and other anti social activities. He also urged upon the Assam Police personnel to maintain a cordial relationship with the people in general so that the human face of Assam Police can be elevated.

He also mooted the idea of smart police in the state and assured to take all possible steps to realize the plan. He also urged chairman of Assam Police Housing Corporation, R.N. Singh to construct a Guest House with all modern facilities in Jengraimukh.

Synchronizing with the function Chief Minister Sonowal felicitated the widows of two police personnel who died on duty. The Jengraimukh Police Station covers 8 Gram Panchayat areas of Majuli District. Chairman of APHC, R.N. Singh, IGP (Eastern Zone) R.K Mi, Xatradhikar Uttar Kamalabari Xatra, Jardan Dev Goswami, Xatradhikar, Garmur Satra Paramanda Dev Goswami were also present on the occasion.  This was stated in a press release.
