Chief Minister iugurates Pynursla civil subdivision

SHILLONG, Feb 15: In a historic achievement, the Pynursla civil subdivision was iugurated on Wednesday. The formal iuguration of the civil sub-division was carried out by the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma in the presence of local MLA and Cabinet Minister Prestone Tynsong.

Pynursla comprises of 125 villages that scattered around three major constituencies in the state-most of whom are located in the southern slopes bordering Bangladesh.

Addressing the iuguration function, Sangma said, “It’s a joy to meet the expectation and aspiration of the people when we are at the helm of governce and I would like to congratulate all those who had been demanding the creating of this sub division as today (Wednesday) their dreams are fulfilled.”

Stating that Punursla can show the way for the rest of the state, he said, “I am privileged to have encountered many people of this area soon after I step into active politics and I have seen many potential entrepreneur and if there is an assessment of the number of people who have the spirit of entrepreneur, this region will have the maximum.”

“The people of this area has shown the world as to how collective community action has create positive stories and through these stories eble the state to connect with the rest of the world,” he said.

The newly iugurated Pynursla Civil Sub Division has 171 villages under it with its headquarters at Pynursla.  

The Chief Minister also said that the government with its various developmental programmes has set a new benchmark to ensure that everything falls in line for growth and prosperity of the state.

He further urged all has cabinet ministers and others to come together to promote the state as a favoured destition for tourist and investors.

“The government had the privilege of creating four, new Civil Sub Division and this is the first one we are iugurating and the government had also created four new district and now it’s in the process of creating 4 civil sub-division one which was iugurated here today and six C&RD block including other development activities,” he said.

Stating that the current government is able to create new hope and aspiration among the people, he said, “We will always have challenges and constraints but what is important is the intention to fulfill the aspiration and expectation of the people and set a new bench mark as I believe that together we can achieve the ambition of putting our state at the highest pedestal.”

The Chief Minister informed that the government is also coming up with new revise Tourism and development policy.

During the function a reading of the notification and handing over of documents to the SDO (Civil) of Pynursla, D. Hynnniewta.
